Political hopefuls visit Co-Line
In February, two Republican Governor Candidates visited Co-Line, Rep. Randy Feenstra and former State Administrator Adam Steen. Feenstra visited on Wednesday, Feb. 18 and Steen visited on Wednesday, Feb. 25. At the tours, the Brand family showcased Co- Line’s latest fabrication addition, which is built directly over the top of where the original welding facility and the family’s home sat, before the destruction of the 2007 tornado. Many topics were covered, including workforce development, education and community colleges, tariffs, agriculture commodities, interest rates, and the recent tax structure changes to incentivize capital investment. Both candidates showed great interest in manufacturing and made nice comments about Co-Line after their visits concluded.
Feenstra shared on his social media platform, “I kept my statewide tour going at Co-Line Manufacturing near Lynnville! Our manufacturers power economic growth, create good-paying jobs, and invest in our communities. As Governor, I’ll make Iowa the most business- and ag-friendly state by strengthening Iowa manufacturing!”
Steen shared on his social media platform, "Wrapped up the day touring Co-Line Manufacturing in Lynnville! Co-Line is a true Iowa success story: Family-built, rooted in rural values, and growing right here at home. Walking the floor and seeing the craftsmanship firsthand was a powerful reminder of what makes our state strong. This is what Iowa does best: Building, creating, and investing in the future of manufacturing and the trades. As governor, I’ll champion expanded career and technical education, strengthen partnerships between schools and local manufacturers, and elevate the trades as a first-choice pathway, not a backup plan. Iowa’s future depends on building the next generation of skilled workers right here at home."
Feenstra and Steen will both be on the 2026 Republican Primary ballot on June 2, 2026 facing other declared candidates Eddie Andrews, Zach Lahn, and Brad Sherman to determine the Republican candidate for the Governor’s race.
